The Ghana National Cricket Team has no nickname. The GCA is soliciting names to be adopted to be used by all the Cricket National teams. Make history by suggesting the winning entry. Apart from the recognition and bragging rights, a compensation package is being put together by the GCA for the winning entry.
Job Description
To support the game of CRICKET in Ghana, the Ghana Cricket Association seeks a Cricket Operations Officer for Ghana (GCO) to spearhead its operations. The GCA will appoint on a fixed term basis a dynamic and energetic individual to coordinate and manage its activities.

The successful candidate will report to the GCA President and Executive Board to implement the strategic direction of GCA operations. The position carries an attractive salary package. The GCO will be a non-executive member of GCA Executive Board and will, on a day-to-day basis, be responsible to, and work closely with the President and the Executive Board.

The GCO will deliver the following key duties:
  • Overall responsibility for the day to day administration of the GCA for effective corporate governance and ensure compliance with statutory requirement
  • Financial management and accountability in line with approved budgets
  • Implementation of the GCA Cricket Development Programme
  • Administrative arrangements for all GCA meetings (including sub-committees)
  • Co-ordinate marketing, fund-raising, communication, promotional and sponsorship activities
  • Management of National team affair, GCA assets, facilities, activities and events
  • Facilitate working relations with the International Cricket Council, Africa Cricket Association, National Sports Council, Ministry of Youth and Sports and all other related bodies
Required Skills or Experience
The GCO should have the following skills and competencies:
  • Tertiary qualification preferably degree level or equivalent with at least 3 years work experience
  • Good skills information technology and project management
  • Analytical person with interpersonal and team work abilities
  • Experience in Sports, particularly cricket administration: will be advantageous
